This summer’s fantastic weather has been a gift to couples getting wed and Danu has been out and about in all manner of locations including country houses, gardens, beaches, horse farms, firesides and at Stonehenge!
There is still work to do letting people know about the role of independent celebrants as some assume Danu is a humanist. That is not the case as the independent celebrant will work with whatever you do or don’t believe giving couples the opportunity to include readings, music, prayers, blessings from the walks of life they resonate with. So it is possible to reflect broadly Christian values and include some Buddhist readings or to reflect a couple’s love of mountaineering in the design and script, for example.
The main thing is that couples feel they can be true to themselves and declare and celebrate their love in an honest way reflecting their lives, passions and beliefs.
This means the ceremonies Danu designs will be totally yours and totally unique. Guests often comment on how much they have enjoyed the ceremony in particular and how it helped them to really participate in their witness role – more on that in the next blog!
